Problem Sets

The problem sets designed for Girls Talk Math are freely available to download and use on our GitHub page

Each problem set covers a different Mathematics or STEM topic which is usually not encountered until college or even graduate school. The problem sets are designed to be accessible to high schoolers with minimal outside instruction required. Some are more challenging than others, but all can be completed with only a background in basic algebra. They are written from an Inquiry-Based Learning approach, in which groups of students work through the problem set together.

The complete list of problem set topics is below. Those currently available online are bolded.

  • Classification of Surfaces
  • Elliptic Curve Cryptography
  • Knot Theory
  • Mathematical Epidemiology
  • Number Systems
  • Network Science
  • Plastics and Recycling
  • Quantum Mechanics
  • RSA Encryption Cryptography

We will continue to add problem sets to our GitHub page as they are finalized. If you are interested in the solutions to these problem sets, please email girlstalkmath@gmail.com
